His opionion is that the ADL is laying off the shooter in the Seattle incident because he has a history of mental illness. I don't know if I buy that. I agree with both Stephanie and kanrei on the issue of Mel Gibsons' celebrity. I also think that at least part of Mr. Foxmans job has to involve fundraising. Perhaps he was thinking that going after Gibson in this manner would aid in that pusuit. I noticed over the weekend that the Gibson incedent was covered a lot by the media. I did not hear very much about Seattle. Kanrei also mentions the movie, "The Passion Of The Christ". This crossed my mind as Mr. Foxmans words seem to take on a personal tone.
