He was fantastic in War of the Worlds (although, I suspect Dakota Fanning helped his performance). Cruise's appeal is on the wane; which happens whether or not you're an idiot. I agree with your thoughts, but I would like to keep believing that he really WAS dropped for his weird behavior. I've never felt the same about Tom Cruise after his Today Show / post partum depression "incident". What an ass. And I'll bet we haven't seen Suri yet because Katie is at home wearing dirty sweatpants, crying all the time, and being forced by her evil husband to take vitamins and run on the damn treadmill for 2 hours a day to avert her post partum depression. Sometimes I wish men could have babies. Actually, I refuse to go see his movies anymore because I now see him as such an ass. So maybe the bottom line IS his strange behavior...people like me who have lost interest in him are no longer paying to see his movies, so his movies are not making the money they once did. And I'm with you...I'd much rather go see some interesting indie films...we might go to the new Moxie theater TONIGHT, as a matter of fact!
