It was one of those days where you feel a little snap in the air today, beautiful night too, all the windows open and a cricket concerto. I like the silence, sometimes it’s nice to get away from the 60 cycle hum and hard drive rumble. I was walking early yesterday morning and the crickets were loud, or was everything else quieter and I was just hearing more of the crickets in the mix? It’s kind of like on a cold day when you can hear the power lines crackling. Are they louder in the cold air or, are they always present but appearing louder in the absence of other noise.
I may have to get out of the house more just to watch T.V. I have not been missing it really but the Cardinals went up two games to nil this afternoon. They are suddenly playing well it seems. I have been a Cardinals fan for a long time. I have been skeptical of them all year then last month during their nearly historic swoon, I thought it was curtains. I heard a reporter from St. Louis say that many people mistake the Cardinals business-like approach to the game for lack of enthusiasm. May be something to that.
I have never seen a ballplayer like Albert Pujols. He never backs down. He plays everyday, every inning like it’s the world series. I think that Ryan Howard had a more outstanding year and he should be the M.V.P. On the other hand, Albert has had a great year every year.
