I Just flew in from Cleveland and ……
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was a gas. The place has a special vibe. John Goehrke and all of the staff were great folks.
The Vice President of Education at the hall, Warren Zanes, conducted the interview with Bill Dees. Warren is a rock and roll renaissance man.
This was one of those occasions that I did not get much of a chance to sight see. However, I did get to walk around the hall for about a half hour. I could easily spend a lot more time there. Of course, I tend to be drawn to the guitars straight off. I look at the wear marks on the neck and all the dents and dings and, for some reason it gives me a sense of connection.
The stage clothes fascinate me as well. In the Orbison exhibit there are a couple of Roy’s jump suits and there are several Jimi Hendrix outfits, some of Elvis’ stuff, I see this and it gives me an insight on how these guys prepared to go to work.
There are a lot of hand written lyrics around and I love to look at what words were crossed out and what was changed. A little window of perception on the creative process.
I am a big fan of interesting architecture. The hall of fame is a cool modern structure designed by Ieoh Ming Pei.

At the other end of the spectrum, we stayed at the Hyatt at the arcade. The arcade was built in 1890 and I was told that it is America’s first indoor mall. Check out the skylight.

Oh wow! wow! I love architecture. Both of those building are cool, but that indoor mall is amazing. If I were walking through there, I’d wind up walking into people just from constantly looking up.
I’m so gald you got to make this trip, Jack. Wonderful!
