I just read an article in The Guardian about concern over the data that Google will be able to compile on individuals in the future. I am pretty sure that cow has been out of the barn for a while. I just looked at my site statistics and the Googlebot has visited 31 times this month so far. I don’t know what this friendly little “bot” is looking for and it makes me uneasy. There are several other “bots” or “spiders” snooping around as well. If these things are paying this much attention to my little corner of cyberspace, I wonder what information they have in total.

I feel a little weird when I see a camera at an intersection, and being able to find a satellite photo of my house on the internet makes me concerned.

I was worn out all day yesterday. I think it was a combination of jet-lag and side effects from the M.S. medication. I went to bed at around 9:30 but I woke up at 4:00 feeling like $100 and finished a song that I have been writing. I was able to record and mix a demo of the song by 8:00, which is the beauty of digital recording for a songwriter. I wonder if the Googlebot knows about it, he/she/it will soon I guess.

I have been reading an interesting book, “Songwriters On Songwriting” by Paul Zollo. As the title suggests it is a collection of conversations with many great writers. I am not very far into it but have picked up some insight. I would recommend it to anyone interested in writing songs.

I just found a link that allows you to view a website as if you were a Googlebot. I typed in the url for this site and it looks pretty benign, but I am going to keep an eye on this. I wonder if there is a way to “bot” the “Googlebot”.
