This O.J. Simpson thing is surreal. Judith Regan, who is the interviewer and also the publisher of his book is saying that she has moral and personal reasons for her involvement. She defends the publishing of the O.J. book and compares it to “Mein Kampf”. There may be a shred of logic in this except for the fact that the spectacle will be airing on Fox. Although, I am sure that if Rupert Murdoch knew of a way to make a buck off of Hitler’s tome, he would jump.

Larry King says that he has never used the internet.

I had a conversation with Hugh Walpole about Mike Bloomfield today. Then by coincidence I heard a track from the first Paul Butterfield record. Bloomfield was a accomplished player. I always thought he was one of the best at playing fills. He played great solos too but those little short fills in between vocals were the stuff. “Like A Rolling Stone” wouldn’t be as cool a record without the fills. There is a real art to it.

Jesse Ed Davis was another top notch fill player. Check out “Doctor My Eyes” by Jackson Browne. I always heard that Duane Allman picked up the idea to play slide from watching Jesse Ed Davis.

Both of those guys were part of the brotherhood of the tele. Other Fender Telecaster players know what I’m talking about. There is a kinship between tele guys/girls.
