“I hate graveyards and old pawnshops for they always bring me tears, I can’t forgive the way they robbed me of my childhood souvenirs.”

I got a bit of sad news yesterday and those lines from the Steve Goodman song “Souvenirs” came to my mind. Such sad words but they make me feel better because I know that I am not the only one who feels the sadness. Goodman was a master songwriter. I need to get some Steve Goodman records. I’ve always heard the John Prine version of this song. John Prine, another master.

Howie, of Howie and the Hillcats once told me that John Prine’s music is the kind of country music you “wish” they played on the radio.

It was ten degrees in the Ozarks this morning. I have misplaced my home cell-phone charger so; I have to use the car charger. I thought I would warm the car up while charging the phone, multi-tasking. The phone would not charge until the interior of the car warmed up. Steve Goodman record or home charger for phone? I’ll probably go with the record and drive around listening to it while charging the phone. Gotta keep your priorities straight.
