A Bureaucrat Looks At Science

Here is an article from KGW, a T.V. station in Oregon, that sates the Governor Ted Kulongoski is wanting to strip George Taylor of his title, “State Climatologist”. The reason for this proposed action is, the Governor does not agree with Taylor’s opinion on the cause of global warming.

The Governor says…

Taylor’s contradictions interfere with the state’s stated goals to reduce greenhouse gases, the accepted cause of global warming in the eyes of a vast majority of scientists.

Even though Taylor disagrees with the “vast majority” of other scientists, the truth is none of them know. These guys can’t give you an accurate 5 day weather forecast.

Here’s a good question; what happens to science if you rid the community of skeptics?

Here is another; is it really science if everyone shares a theory that is not proven?

And one more; State Climatologist?

I am tired of hearing about how the greedy humans caused global warming. I tired of hearing about Kyoto, carbon footprints, hybrid cars, flatulent cows, Al Gore and the Oscars and firing people because of what they think.

If all of the geniuses are right, and global warming is here and the polar ice caps are melting, this is what I want to hear about; a concrete, efficient, humane plan for evacuating L.A., New York, Mexico City, Tokyo, and every other coastal community in the world.

In my last post I wrote about the oldest newspaper in the world dropping their print edition and going digital. Here, from a haaretz.com article, is a quote from New York Times owner Arthur Sulzberger.
