I spent the afternoon doing a set-up on a guitar, It’s meticulous work and can get frustrating. I finally got it where I want it and decided to kick back a little, turn on the radio, and have a cup of coffee. You can’t hide from the Anna Nicole Smith story, even on the sports station. I saw Tom Wolfe (”Bonfire of the Vanities”, “The Right Stuff”) interviewed on some show over the weekend and he said something like the story is fascinating and transends cultural boundries. How long until the first made for T.V. movie?
I visited some friends this morning who Tivo’d the Grammys so, I got to see a little of that. I was very impressed with Gnarls Barkley, Cee-Lo is a real deal soul singer. Speaking of soul singers, Smokey Robinson’s voice has aged like good brandy.
I liked John Mayer also; I’ve been listening to the “Trio” record over the last couple days. Triple threat guy, good player/singer/writer. There is only about a million guitar players that would love to have Steve Jordan and Pino Pallidino as a rhythm section so that should tell you something.
And, after winning five Grammys, Dixie Chick Natalie Maines said, “I’m slowly getting my faith back in mankind”… Hang in there Natalie.

I’m STILL celebrating the Chicks wins. Yee haw!
