I had to get away from the old blog for a few days. I couldn’t think of anything I wanted to write about.
The great guitarist Howard Roberts once said, “Sometimes you have to get away from practising and go out and look at trees for a few days”. Good advice, Howard was a guru.
The media seems to be manufacturing news right now. A good friend who is a former journalist describes the 24-hour news cycle as a news “hole”. That seems about right, a hole that needs to be filled in with matter lacking substance. Is there some journalism sweeps period that I don’t know about?
Late to the party as usual, I saw a couple of movies this weekend. I thought “Borat” was funny and I think that most of the criticism I’ve heard stems from people taking things too seriously.
“Little Miss Sunshine” is a feel good movie for the dysfunctional. I like a film that, after viewing, I can’t think of any others to compare it to.

Spring fever will grip much of the nation this week with above average temperatures in the offing.
It’s 77 degrees and sunny in the Ozarks, they may be right. Although, it seems like we always get one more big storm after we think it’s all over.
