Last night was a mess.
Here is how it was supposed to go;
5:00 p.m.-Leave the house.
5:15 p.m.-Stop for cigarettes.
6:00 p.m.-Arrive at venue (mall) and load in.
7:00 p.m.-Sound check for band.
7:30 p.m.-Sound with singers.
8:00 p.m.-Show starts.
10:00 p.m.-Show ends.
11:00 p.m.-Home.
Here is how it went;
5:00 p.m.-Left house
5:15 p.m.-Stopped for cigarettes.
5:16 p.m.-Started raining heavily, my car was parked only fifteen feet away from the smoke shop door and I was thoroughly drenched.
5:21 p.m.-Stuck in theme park traffic (expected).
6:03 p.m.-Rain stops.
6:05 p.m.-Arrive at venue, load in postponed.
6:30 p.m.-Load in.
6:55 p.m.-Set-up is complete (sound company had arrived earlier), amps turned on.
6:57 p.m.-Rain resumes.
7:35 p.m.-Got word that show was cancelled, still raining.
7:42 p.m.-Rain stops.
7:45 p.m.-got word that earlier word was incorrect, show must go on.
7:52 p.m.-Sound check band and singers.
8:00 p.m.-Show starts on time.
8:45 p.m.-First set ends; first break. Got word that there was to be no second break as originally planned.
9:45 p.m.-Show ends.
10:35 p.m.-Taco Bell
11:00 p.m.-Home
At least the beginning and ending went according to plan.
Taco Bell was the highlight of the evening. I don’t think I’ve ever said that before. I know I’ve never said that before.
