“I have said it already, I am convinced that the way to build a new and better world is not capitalism. Capitalism leads us straight to hell.”
Hugo Chavez
Hugo Chavez has big plans, yeah. He has promised to propose his idea of new socialism that, evidently, includes government control of all media. He thinks that Iran, is “a good model for other countries”. He says he is forming an “axis of unity” with Iran to “defeat the imperialism of North America”. He wishes to start a “Global revolution against Washington”.
He hangs out with the likes of Daniel Ortega and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. He buys arms from Putin in Russia.
Here is a picture of Chavez with a parrot on his shoulder.

Here is a picture of Chavez with Sean Penn on his shoulder.

This is from a Yahoo News/AP ariicle.
Chavez said he and Penn discussed the question of “why the (U.S.) empire attacks Chavez so much,” saying Venezuela’s oil wealth is a key reason.
He also said Washington is “afraid that the people of the United States will learn the real truth” about the situation in Venezuela, citing his social programs for the poor.
“If the people of the United States, those millions and millions of poor people … if that nation realizes what is truly happening here, there would be a revolution in the United States,” Chavez said, eliciting applause from Penn.
So, Sean Penn applauds the idea that we, the “millions and millions” of “poor” Americans would revolt if we could, somehow, be allowed, presumably by our imperialist government, to see how great things are in Venezuela. That we would unite as poor people and say we’re not going to take it anymore; look how good things are in Venezuela. Do you think that Sean Penn really believes that?
What is Sean Penn trying to accomplish here? I really would like to know,
Sean Penn is his own man. He can do and say whatever the hell he wants. Like this for example from one of his open letters to President Bush.
” Well, you and the smarmy pundits in your pocket, those who bathe in the moisture of your soiled and bloodstained underwear, can take that noise and shove it. We will be snowed no more.”
I think we get the point that Penn is against the war in Iraq and doesn’t like the President and the administration. I guess that the right to free speech isn’t enough for Penn. Maybe he feels that his celebrity status entitles him to more. He’s like a little kid who runs around making an ass out of himself when he doesn’t get his way.
The rich irony, of course, is that Penn is up there applauding Chavez as he accuses our government of suppression one week after Chavez made an official statement that he would deport any foreigners that were critical of his government. Furthermore this comes a couple of months after Chavez took control of the last public T.V. network in Venezuela.
Maybe Sean Penn is just getting snowed.
