Good news for fans of the Eagles. Joe Walsh and Don Henley have both said that a new studio album will be out soon. You can’t accuse these guys of rushing a project, it’s been 28 years since the last one.
San Diego Padre pitcher David Wells has been fined $5,000 on top of the $3,000 he was levied for arguing with an umpire and getting thrown out of a game on July 7th. Why the extra 5 G’s? Well, commissioner and chief hypocrite Bud Selig did not like comments that Wells made to reporters and the fact that Wells taped a letter from baseball’s disciplinarian Bob Watson on the clubhouse wall for everyone, including reporters, to read.
So, Selig, a former used car salesman fired this letter off to Wells.
“It is highly inappropriate to impugn the honesty, integrity and impartiality of the Office of the Commissioner and the umpires to the media under any circumstance,” Selig wrote. “Such actions are inflammatory and strike at the heart of the public confidence in the game of baseball.
“I expect that you will refrain from making such derogatory comments about the Office of the Commissioner and its umpires in the future. In the event you engage in such misconduct again, the discipline will be much more severe.”
Wells promptly taped the letter to his locker for everyone, including reporters, too see.
Now, one of these photos is of a rock star, the other a highly trained athlete in peak physical condition. Can you tell which is which?
