The heat wave has finally broke; a high of only 89 today. I was outside a few minutes ago toting some guitar amps around and it was actually very pleasant.
I just looked at a map showing all of the different possible paths for Hurricane Dean. It looks like Jamaica is going to get slammed. You know. if you are on a land mass and have a couple of day’s warning that a storm is coming, there are at least some options. If you are on an island, take shelter and hope for the best.
Michael Vick is supposedly mulling over a plea bargain in his dog fighting/dog murdering case that would have him serve at least one year in prison and permanently banned from the N.F.L. I am also hearing that, if he doesn’t take the deal, the feds will hit him with RICO charges and he could face 20 years. You never know what’s going to happen in these deals. The thought crosses my mind that Vick may have evidence on others that he has held back. In other words, there is always the possibility that he could rat his way out of trouble but it would be tough for a guy like that to hide. You have to think that he would be more worried about losing an NFL career, that is worth hundreds of millions, than he would be about a year in the tank.
Would a guy like Vick roll over on others to save his NFL career?
I have a gig with the Rogues in Branson tonight. The Rogues are a band that does classic rock and r&b covers. It’s a fun band because the line-up is a revolving cast of area players. Tonight’s show is a private party but I think that I will be doing more of these gigs, in the future, that are open to the public. I am also going to be playing some Monday nights with Joel Johansen at the Outback Pub in Branson. Joel is an accomplished woodwind player and percussionist. I’ll keep you posted.
