Imus Is Back, And A Few Photos From The Neighborhood

I had trouble sleeping last night and was up around four. It dawned on me that this morning was the big return of the Imus In the Morning show. I found the WABC website and listened to the stream. The whole thing was pretty subdued, I think. No big shockers. Chris Dodd got off the best line of the day. Imus was jabbing him about Ted Kennedy’s book deal, saying something to the effect that Dodd could not be too comfortable wit the idea of Kennedy doing a tell-all. Dodd said that he contacted Kennedy and said that if Kennedy didn’t watch it, he (Dodd) could probably get $10,000,000 for filling in the blanks.
The Levon Helm Band was the musical act and the mix was horrible. It may have something to do with the web feed, I don’t know. It’s a shame though, because I like the band. One of the best things about the old show was the audio quality of the music. They consistently had some of the best sound I have ever heard on live radio.
This afternoon, I went for a walk at the Joe Bald Public Use Area which is a nearby campground, boat dock, swimming area that falls under the authority of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. It hasn’t been in business operation for several years at this point but it is open to the public. They do not allow camping anymore and some of the place has a neglected feel. There was some interesting light and I took these pictures.
