Robert Plant is sure having a good year. He has a critically acclaimed and commercially successful record out with Allison Krauss. Zep had the big reunion show that everyone is raving about, Rolling Stone described him as a “Viking Elder” and now this from NME.
Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant has been named the “beard of the year” by the Beard Liberation Front.

The Beard Liberation Front is an “informal network of British beard wearers” that is against “beardism”. Hmmm… I’ll go for that. Stamp out beardism. Last years winner was Richard Branson.
Actually, both those guys, Plant and Branson, are more “semi” beards than full beards. At some point, I would like to see a proud, full beard owner be rewarded.
Somebody like acting guru, T.V. host, author and former pimp, James Lipton.

That’s a beard. And, with Lipton you kind of feel like the beard is necessary; wouldn’t want to see him without it. Whereas, with Robert Plant it is more like a well-chosen accessory.

I think Lipton looks better than Plant.
