A couple of times a week, without fail, I will run into somebody that I know, and they will say something to the effect of: “Wow Jack, I finally looked up your website. It looks really good, very professional looking”. They are being polite but, I get the feeling that they are surprised that a middle aged, hairy legged guitar player, like myself would put time and attention into the design and appearance of a website. And of course, the truth is, that I do not. All of the tech work on this site has been carried out by Jayne. She is, of course my sister but, the fact that she has spoon fed and hand led an anti-technical curmudgeon into the blogosphere, and they way that she has responded to stupid suggestions and silly whims goes far beyond sibling politeness.
Jayne gets giddy about things like plug-ins and WP updates and I am consumed with thoughts about how rectifier, vacuum tubes work. Different worlds. Anyway, one thing Jayne added to the site, a while back, is the Random Posts feature. When she told me about I grumbled: “yeah, yeah, do whatever you want, just don’t change how I upload photos”, or something like that.
Since she added the Random Posts feature, I have noticed a growing trend of visitors exploring the archived posts. I am delighted by this and I would urge all to stumble around through those archives. Also, people are starting to comment more and more on the archive posts. I like this because, a lot of them are about issues and not time sensitive. A lot of times, an issue will come up in the news, and I will decline to write about it because it is something I have commented on before, in depth or a broader sense.
For that reason, I would also urge you to keep an eye on the latest comments feature as well. Because there may be some discussion going on in the archives that you may find interesting.

Jack: Glad to know we can round-table your site. I have been going around looking for Jack-isms that I missed over the last decade.
Yes, for sure I have some catching up to do, and some notes for the stream. For instance: I don’t suppose you all know the real reason for Jack’s prowess and success on his Telecaster? Yes, I’ll tell you now; it is not noticeable unless you know where to look:
Jack has opposing little fingers, as well as thumbs. Yes. He will probably deny it, because his trade secret was safe until I caught up with him. I am sure that he is okay with it now. Twelfths and ninths, fifteenths… no problem. He can even play a Hendrix melody over a Satriani solo, in a twelve-part fugue!
He would blush if you all knew but he is a fourth generation descendant of Sasquatch; you know that Russian experiment that Stalin began back in early 20th century? Yes the hairy legs give it away; Stalin was trying to develop ultimate army soldiers. Ever noticed how far one step takes Jack when he walks from Springfield to Branson? Those are just baby steps; you should see his giant steps.
So now you all know the best of all that is Jack, thanks to me. Of course if Jack had lived in Stalin’s day, Stalin would have had him jailed and probably executed along with the other 9 million mercantile people he put to death before he was sealed in Lucite… Thank God that is not the case. God Save the Union of the Soviet Socialists Republic, the most democratic, free-enterprise republic on earth today.
Please don’t look at his siblings for any clues. Don’t think his whole family is of the same line, they aren’t. Only Jack survives with his special traits coming to him through his pappy’s line, God rest his soul, Jack sr.
Jack sr. told me all about it back in Marthasville , MO, in ‘90. “That girl thought she could put one over my Jack?” said Jack sr. to me one Thanksgiving morning. Then, because he was such a gentle man, he still cooked the turkey for us all, including Sally Sue, who couldn’t say no, nor make up her mind. She had a guy in Evansville, and Jack jr. in Missouri; “She can’t have her Sasquatch in-diana, too,” quipped Dad, Jack sr. >pd
