Just woke up-first cup of coffee; it’s cold in the Ozarks, 16 degrees. The guy on the radio last night said we are experiencing an “Alberta Clipper”.

From Wikipedia.

An Alberta clipper, also known as a Canadian Clipper, is a fast moving low pressure area which generally affects the central provinces of Canada and parts of the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes regions of the United States. Most clippers occur between December and February, but can also occur occasionally in the month of November. Alberta Clippers take their name from Alberta, Canada, the province from which they appear to descend, and from clipper ships of the 19th century, one of the fastest ships of that time.

New one to me.

It’s hectic right now, gigs at night-studio all day. I’m leaving for the studio in a few minutes. Lou Whitney and I will start mixing the Bill Dees record today and, hopefully it will be finished tomorrow.

Last night, after the gig, after loading gear and filling up with gas (cold, cold, cold), it was around 1:30 and It dawned on me that I hadn’t eaten anything but a muffin all day long. I still had an hour drive back to the Winnebago so, I stopped at Steak and Shake. I got a burger, fries and a chocolate shake-great stuff. So, I’m eating as I’m driving, in the dark. I finished the old Steakburger and I thought to myself; “That was really good but, it seems like they are making them smaller than I remember”.

I got home, turned on the light and there was a good 1/3rd of the burger stuck to the lapel of my coat. Yeah, I ate it anyway-no one was looking-cold but still good. Class Act.

Square knees was asking for a reason
How can I go sleeping in a car
I got red hot tires my tires are smokin’
I’m so broke I don’t wanna stop
My gears are crying
My gears are crying
I got the ha hamburger
I got the ha hamburger
I got the ha hamburger midnight blues

Yep, if no one is around, food is food. Pay attention to your diet, Jack. When you’re busy like this, the last thing you need to do is to neglect nourishing your body.
