Well, a while back my friend Darlene commented on my lack of posts pertaining to the art world. Be careful what you wish for Darlene.
From This Is London…
Controversial American sculptor Daniel Edwards latest work ‘The Oprah Sarcophagus’, is a very full-figured sculpture of Oprah Winfrey - and that’s where the likeness begins and ends.
The work casts Miss Winfrey in bronze, as a nude, full-breasted woman with generous child-bearing hips.
However, it bears little likeness to the billionaire media mogul, save for the head of curly hair that fans out around her.
Instead, the artwork shares an uncanny likeness to the coffinette which held the body of Egyptian boy king Tutankhamun.
Edwards, 42, says his piece pays homage to the closest thing America has to a living deity.

An inside source informs me that the sarcophagus has endorsed Obama.

Yo, Jack; Darlene probably meant “art.” I’ve attached “real art” link above.

well alrighty then, it’s all in the eye of—-whatever. And, yes, she did endorse the ‘Bama. Maybe that is art??? The art of the sway power? Went to KC a couple of weeks ago. Saw some “real art” at a gallery in Brookside. It was pretty cool. Gave me a new vision…there are some new ideas out there. Sometime I’ll have to tell you how my work is birthed, probably not unlike your music. It’s totally spiritual, and totally not from me.
The man-child got to Daytona, by the way. My family is a never ending soap-opry….guess it keeps life from being boring, but sometimes I pray for one boring moment. I’m too old for this!!!!

Hey Darlene, Glad the boy made it to the sunshine State safe and sound.
Soap-opry, heh heh….I’ll probably steal that one.
Methinks you contradict yourself, if you have the vison to see that, “there are some new ideas out there”, then you aren’t too old…for anything that is worthwhile.
