The road goes on forever and the party never ends.

This weekend the party is, once again, at the nightlife capitol of Taney County, the Outback Pub.

Last century I was very privileged to see Robert Earl Keen Jr and Guy Clark play in a very small room upstairs in a pub in Saltburn, North East England. A night I’ll always remember. Loving the CD, by the way!!

    Thanks Gary,
Robert Earl Keen Jr and Guy Clark…man that’s a strong double bill right there. Like a songwriting summit meeting.

Keen has an uncanny knack for invoking an entire scene/set of circumstances while using just a few words.

“I wished I’d cashed my paycheck
    Before I came to town”

and Guy Clark-he’s one of those cats that the average person, over here in the States, has no clue about. Fantastic writer. One of the first songs I ever learned was “Desperados Waiting For A Train”. That song is like an epic novel.
