Ooh, I like that Dr.J. It never occurred to me to practice that way but, it's natural as cornbread.

Good post! I remind my students that every chord wants to resolve up a perfect 4th or down a perfect 5th. It helps them understand how modulation works. So if I ask them to play scales, I want them to play C, then the Cdom7 arpeggio, then F...etc. Just my 2 cents...

Thank you Pat

Thank you Tony-A young man from the Italio side of the family that I have not met, yes?

More FZ- "Let's hear it for another fine Italian". Google that one for some grins Moo.

I looked at the ongoing banter between you and T, on your site. Did you possibly persuade him to devote extra thought with this-"and tell them about command performance. It is the number one aspect of almost all business structures, that is why music training is so important developmentally."

See, this is news to me for, as you are aware, I am unaware of almost all business structures.

Tony sent you a message.

Re: Article

"I also read an article in the times today about a researcher who has linked the part of the brain of command performance to the same part that works when you tell someone about yourself, so the article makes a very valid point when it says that improv is like communicating..."

Thanks PD, you are too kind.

Ovidiu, yeah, I get what you are saying there. I sure do like the idea of the "baby chicken of F chord" though.

Well, I think it was Dm but I wouldn't bet my life on it, it happened about 10 years ago and until reading your article it has never come to my mind. I don't know, the term was something close to kid of F, baby of F, but a term that we use when we refer to animal babies, chicken babies, this kind of baby/kid :-)

Ovidiu - GuitarFlame.com's last blog post..Eddie Van Halen in hospital for not-yet-diagnosed disease

Thanks Ovidiu.
You never did say which one it was the Dm or Fm. I must know, I don't want to be caught off guard when a gypsy accordion player asks me to play a "baby chicken of F".

Baby chicken of F-classic.
