From WXII News comes this story.
DENTON, N.C. — A Davidson County woman, trapped in a closet for more than 20 hours, smashed a hole through a wall in desperation to finally escape.
Susan Mitchell, of Denton, said she was scared when television stations in the area began broadcasting tornado watches and warnings during Tuesday’s severe storms.
Mitchell said she grabbed her cats and took cover in a closet….
Apparently, in her rush for safety she forgot the closet door locked from the outside.
Mitchell said she began to grow frantic after 20 hours passed with no food, water, or medicine for her diabetes….
That’s when, in desperation, Mitchell, who works out at a gym three days a week, said she decided to smash a hole through the wall. The force of her swings made a hole a little more than a foot wide.
“I threw another blanket out there on the floor and pillow and squeezed through,” she said smiling. “Not bad for a grandma.”
Not bad for a grandma indeed, Susan. Good show! We salute you.
Here, Susan Mitchell dramatically re-enacts the event.

In closing, Susan gives us some wise advice.
“So I say to everybody ‘keep a hammer in your closet, tie your cell phone around your neck, and be in shape,’” she said.
Hey all you rockers-ever seen the original “Hammer Of The Gods”, Trini Lopez? Dig.
Everybody now…

Moral of this correlation of two stories: The student body at UCLA says, “Just in case — always Keep the Big Framing Hammer of Justice, Cell phone of Freedom, and Song-tight aerobicized Shapely body of brotherly Love all in your closet — should severe tornadic storms, or illegal aliens invade your house?

Holy Memory Lane, Batman! That last video gave me a surprise this morning!
My parents are somewhat weird. My Dad’s an engineer and so he insists on having the highest quality equipment. My Mum plays piano and loves music but could never bring herself to spend money. Combine the two and growing up in our house we had a high end (don’t touch) stereo… and only two 45s!
One of them was “If I Had A Hammer” and the other was “Unchain My Heart”

My favorite part of the video is where Trini sings, “If I had a bell”, and the drummer hits the bell of the cymbal-ding, ding, ding, ding. Classic.
Jayne-I agree, so glad that got a Woohoo!
BFH-Thanks for additional research and correlation. Framing Hammer of Justice gets a Yahtzee!
Kenski-I could listen to “If I Had A Hammer” and “Unchain My Heart” on the “HiFi” in “Stereophonic Sound” all day long. Just thinking about it makes me want to get out the old fondue set. Cheers.
