Elvis Aron Presley, was of German, Scottish, French, Jewish and Cherokee ancestry… born in a two room house, built by his father, in East Tupelo. He was the second of identical twins—his brother was stillborn…[Why Ikki peed ya]
Robert Allen Zimmerman, aka Jewish name: Zushe ben Avraham, dba Bob Dylan — Istanbul Lithuanian Turkish Jewish….[Why Ikki peed ya]
“Gospel pervaded Elvis’ character and was a defining and enduring influence all of his days.”[ibid]
[Dylan's]…His early focus on rock and roll gave way to an interest in American folk music, typically performed with an acoustic guitar. [ibid]
Though Presley had been unhappy, [Steve] Allen’s show had, for the first time, beaten The Ed Sullivan Show in the ratings, causing a critical Sullivan (CBS) to book Presley for three appearances for an unprecedented $50,000.[ibid] …Presley’s first Ed Sullivan appearance (September 9, 1956)… [lowbid]
On May 12, 1963, Dylan experienced conflict with the media when he walked off the Ed Sullivan Show…..[hibid]
[Elvis] …At the two concerts he performed at the 1956 Mississippi-Alabama Fair and Dairy Show, one hundred National Guardsmen were on hand to prevent crowd trouble.[sighbid]
In the early 1970s critics charged Dylan’s output was of varied and unpredictable quality. Rolling Stone magazine writer and Dylan loyalist Greil Marcus notoriously asked “What is this shit?” upon first listening to 1970’s Self Portrait.
Another tour was scheduled to begin August 17, 1977, but at Graceland the day before, Presley was found on the floor of his bathroom by fiancée, Ginger Alden.
…Bob Dylan has finally confirmed in an interview what he’s been saying in his music for 18 months: He’s a born-again Christian. Dylan said he accepted Jesus Christ in his heart in 1978 after “a vision and feeling” during which the room moved: “There was a presence in the room that couldn’t have been anybody but Jesus.”
In the late 1970s, Dylan ..From January to April 1979, Dylan participated in Bible study classes at the Vineyard School of Discipleship in Reseda, Southern California. Pastor Kenn Gulliksen has recalled: “Larry Myers and Paul Emond went over to Bob’s house and ministered to him. He responded by saying, Yes he did in fact want Christ in His life.” [ibid Deutronomy]
So there you have it with proof from Why Ikki peed ya, open source internet researching… the split apart spiritual ghost of Elvis entered Bob Dylan, aka Zushe ben Avraham, prophet and seer… and the stillborn twin brother lived on in the fulfilled Dylan.
You see Timmy, they are all actually the same person, as I understand it, though on earth they are three… They make up the Holy Trinity of American 20th Century music: Gospel / Folk / Rock. Let us pray.
A couple of quick thoughts as I’m out the door to the gig.
Jayne-very succinct; you say much with few words and your presence honors us.
Fosternot-orto/elvisisdead/PD/moopig-This is an interesting theory you are developing. One thing passed through my mind (going from memory not wiki here, so you may find that my timeline isn’t correct); Sammy Davis Jr. converted to Judaism during a hospital stay, after an auto accident-Summer 1954-Elvis cut his first actual released record-Summer 1954. Coincidence?
J&Gary-The sandwich factor-this is a great point. As I was leaving for the gig last night, I asked myself this; “Jack, if you had two discs in hand Elvis and Bob Dylan which would you listen to on the way to the big town? Right at that moment, it would have been Dylan. See, I still had “Idiot Wind” running through my mental jukebox.
But, on the way home, for some reason the very underrated Elvis tune, “Marie’s The Name” came to mind. Now, the only thing open was Taco Bell and I hit the drive thru. But, if I would have been able to read the comments before the ill-fated Taco Bell stop-I would have hit the 24hr. Wal-Mart Super Center in Branson West, bought bananas, peanut butter, Wonder Bread and looked for a version “Marie” on CD>
Right now though….
Hmmmm…definitely food for thought…but co-inki-dinki? I think not. All of you, we really need to wrap this one up, because I don’t have any gigs to go to.
Your friend,
Pat Darnell

Bob Dylan is a fantastic musician, but Elvis is perfect for emotion; for sentimental, for the freedom of joy.
As for banana and peanut butter… well, it’s potassium and protein, but I don’t want ‘em together.
