It seemed like he was interested in that for some reason. I have owned a lot of different kinds of guitars and, I remember in that phone call going in to depth about the differences. Then, I think he interviewed Larry right before me. Larry is one of those guys that can take all these guitars apart and put them back together. He's the kind of guy you would call if you needed new frets on your vintage guitar. So, he has a history of tinkering. Even when I had several guitars, I would normally just use one at a particular gig. I don't like switching back and forth for a lot of reasons. The gigs Larry and I have played together on were a lot of fun. Larry brings a couple of different guitars and runs a stereo amp setup, with a comprehensive pedal board. I'm on the other side with my "rig" which is way simple. But, it's a good combination when we do it and I think it interests Dave that we do what we do with such different approaches. But, I would say that it owes more to the fact that we are both listening and give each other room.
