A Japanese plumber was arrested for calling a toll-free number around 500 times so he could hear a taped female voice, police said Monday.

Hiroyuki Nomoto, a 38-year-old Tokyo resident, was arrested on suspicion of obstructing the business of the company, a food firm based in the city of Takasaki north of the capital.

“The company has the number for 24-hour order-taking with a female voice. He said he wanted to hear a woman’s voice,” a police spokesman said.

Well…O.K., you got this guy, a middle aged plumber type of guy, maybe he has sense that things just aren’t going the way they should in his life, I don’t know. For some reason, he fixates on a recorded voice and, who knows what the manifestation of that is? Maybe, it’s some kind of “disorder” or “syndrome” or something like that. You almost have to feel sorry for the guy, right? I mean, he isn’t causing any harm, right?

“The company paid the call charges, which amounted to 3.8 million yen (36,900 dollars) for the call time of 3,100 hours,” the official said.

So, it works out to 37 Grand on the phone bill. 37 Grand! I once had a roommate, a German bass player, that stiffed me for a little over $1,000 worth of drunken, late-night calls to the Mother Land. Not only did it piss me off, it screwed me up with the phone company and I couldn’t get a phone in my name. This was before pre-paid cell phones so, it left me screwed. But, that’s off the point here. Surely this guy could have figured out a way to feed his delusion and fetish without costing some food company 3.8 million yen.

Oddly, this sort of thing has occurred before in Japan.

Obsession with female voices is not new for Japanese police.

A 37-year-old man was arrested in January after placing at least 2,600 calls to directory help over several months.

Maybe the plumber guy was a copycat dialer.

Humbly I admit, the stream has caught up with me, and I am on a similar wavelength as many other altruistic yobs in here. I have been looking into the natural flow of bloggery flotsam and jetsum… only to become somewhat an up diked waterway, channeling yob blog plumber’s helper. So in response to digital simulations — refer to:

VOIP, Voice Over Internet Protocol, Voice over the Communication lines will allow the actual minds of “us all” to be heard. Eventually brainless yobbings will fill up all the white noise available in our bandwidth, creating a global billing… of say, [some number not yet invented]: that will leave the entire planet phoneless, and easily target to be purchased by Venutians.

[Just two things I ask -- do not call me late for dinner, and don't call collect.]

If I can maybe post my latest revelation concerning YOB ’s, it occurs tome that presidential candidates might after all be Yob’s by way of their collective sociopaths.

Having just finished re-reading “The Peter Principle” by Dr. Peters, (1965) and I definitely think Yobs are to Socio-paths, like a presidential candidate is to being a Socio-path… who define the Peters Principle !!

NOTE: In the 1830’s this disorder was called “moral insanity.” By 1900 it was changed to “psychopathic personality.” More recently it has been termed “antisocial personality disorder” in the DSM-III and DSM-IV. Some critics have complained that, in the attempt to rely only on ‘objective’ criteria, the DSM has broadened the concept to include too many individuals. The APD category includes people who commit illegal, immoral or self-serving acts for a variety of reasons and are not necessarily psychopaths. http://www.mcafee.cc/Bin/sb.html)

Why didn’t the phone thief just use a SONY recorder and tape the message, and play it back when he is rubbing his zen stones? This guy could sue for carpal tunnel dammages… all that calling!

I nominate Health-law Attorneys for mindless yobs growing out of the service industry of US and Canada…

06/2007 — “I think all hospitals in the United States are going to have to deal with (camera-phone use),” said Suellyn Ellerbe, chief executive officer of Tri-City Medical Center in Oceanside, California, a suburb north of San Diego.

“Photo-equipped PDAs, which doctors frequently use, pose special problems, said Ellerbe, whose hospital fired the nine workers.

“Camera phones are a difficult privacy issue for medical institutions because regulations banning them — which already exist in many hospitals — are difficult to enforce. But high-profile cases may be spreading the word that taking pictures on the job can lead to unemployment. …But doctors, who are not employees of the hospital, refused to allow a ban on their use of cell phones.

“Another case, in Iowa City, Iowa, involved a May 18 newspaper article that police were investigating reports that someone took nude photos of nursing residents with a camera phone. Cell phones reportedly are now banned at the facility…”

    – from same article —
“They could search everybody’s purse, but I don’t think that’s an environment that health-care facilities want,” said Katherine Benesch, an health-law attorney in Princeton, New Jersey, who has helped nursing homes create policies banning camera phones.

“Ultimately,” said Dr. David Cameron, a physician and health-law attorney in Toronto, “there isn’t a lot of power that the hospital has to keep these things from happening.”
