Here’s something you don’t see a lot of these days, a Nashville act announcing they are extending a tour. From Billboard.
Carrie Underwood has extended her maiden headlining tour, dubbed Carnival Ride, through mid-December. The new leg begins Sept. 23 in Cleveland and wraps Dec. 14 in Gainesville, Fla., with support from Little Big Town….
So far this year, Underwood has grossed more than $9.6 million and drawn 201,493 fans to 31 shows, 26 of which were sell-outs, according to Bilboard Boxscore data.
Now, I’m not a big fan of slick Nashville product or former American Idol contestants, for the most part (actually, I get a kick out of Kelli Pickler too) but, every time I see Carrie Underweood perform on T.V., I mention to anybody around; “Damn, that girl can really sing”. She can sing, she can belt, she is believable, she conveys soul and, if she is using the PC live, I’m not hearing it kick in. And, her band plays like their hair product has been laced with cayenne. She’s such a good singer that she can overcome a pandering lyric.
Why is Carrie Underwood extending her first tour as a headliner? Because she’s out there just flat bringing it.

In context of females who can sing… and this isn’t based on all the gender/race/lowdowness factors… Christina Aguilera, and Carrie Underwood.
