Metallica front man, James Hetfield, discusses the new record, “Death Magnetic”, with Blabbermouth.

What’s it all about James?

“Thinking about death… some people are drawn towards it, and just like a magnet, some people are drawn towards it, [and] other people are afraid of it and push away. And the concept that we’re all gonna die sometimes is over-talked about and then a lot of times never talked about — no one wants to bring it up; it’s the big white elephant in the living room. But we all have to deal with it at some point. So that’s kind of the subject matter.”

Here is the cover art.

uhh….yeah…death… big white elephant….just like a magnet….drawn towards it…..Thinking about death

One might say; “This tasteless cover is a good indication of the lack of musical invention within. The musical growth of this band cannot even be charted. They are treading water in a sea of retarded sexuality and bad poetry.”

To which, one might reply; “That’s just nitpicking, isn’t it?

If perhaps, somehow, their reality was based on the movie “This Is Spinal Tap”.

Bad poetry? Maybe. But I don’t think they’ve ever done anything to do with sexuality onstage.

I gave up on ‘em after …And Justice For All, except for the “Unforgiven” songs. (Metallica with a bender!) So I’m not waiting with bated breath.

So, that’s where they buried Magneto.. after he had been de-aged and was suffering from amnesia, calling himself Joseph; it was later revealed that Joseph was a younger clone of Magneto… but Magneto became ruler of the nation Genosha. During his reign, he received two miniseries; “Magneto Rex” ..written by Joe Pruett and drawn by Brandon Peterson.. and “Magneto: Dark Seduction” ..written by Fabian Nicieza and drawn by Roger Cruz.

A retelling of Magneto’s childhood, entitled Magneto: Testament, is due for publication in September 2008. It is written by Greg Pak, who has read accounts from Holocaust survivors, watched documentaries, and read comics such as Maus as part of his research into the era…

It’s too bad this artwork looks like the south end of a north bound white maverick elephant.
