The times they are a changin’. From AAJ.
Small format, handheld touch screen musicians are the future, so you had better get used to it. If you haven’t seen Pocket Guitar (iPhone guitar) or iAno (iPhone piano) function on Apple’s iPhone then you’re going to jaw drop when you hear the newly formed band of geeks calling themselves iBand. It’ the first iPhone band to form around touch screen instruments and the delusion of miniature rock stardom.
Yeah, no need to sweat and toil out there in that funky garage anymore. Or, haul all that gear around. Matter of fact, who needs an axe that you can’t receive a text message on?
Visit the iBand website or, check out the video below.
As always….before playing the YouTube, hit pause on the music player to your left.
Pretty neat but, I think I’m going to hold out for that point to point, hand wired, all tube, class A iPhone.

I think I’ll hold off on purchasing mine until the guitar-shaped wireless controllers become available.

A friend of mine has one of those iPhone thingies. I’m not sure he even knows how to pick up a call on it, but he was showing me his 12 bar blues widget he’s got on it where you can record yourself doing a 1-4-5 then solo over the top and even add applause (if you feel you’ve earned it)!
After 2 minutes of scrutiny I decided to hold onto my LP even though the iPhone did have a REALLY low action.

When you wrote ‘anvil’, I immediately thought of an Acme anvil. Or perhaps a 16 ton version. :)
I myself am waiting for the iPhone trumpet app. :)

I’ve worked a few concerts, so I know Anvil cases. You just might need one to get an iPhone through Chicago O’Hare in one piece.
