Kid Rock, he’s riding high, going against the grain, selling records, refusing to deal with iTunes, tearing up the Waffle House. He isn’t one to mince words either. In an interview with CMT, he shared his thoughts on…

What’s Wrong With The Music Biz

“If people had good albums, they’d be buying albums. But people are buying singles because they only have good songs.”

Radio

“The program director at a radio station, by the way, is not the superstar,” he said. “If he was a superstar, he’d be out creating songs, but he’s not. But he wants to act like he has control and power.”

Oprah and Celebrities Who Endorse Political Candidates

As soon as Oprah Winfrey pops up and goes ‘Ha-la-la-la-la,’ I’m like, ‘I love Barrack Obama. I hate Oprah Winfrey.’” He adds, “I don’t hate her. I just don’t believe in her, so I don’t want any part of any of that. I think celebrities hurt politicians.”

and….

Bloggers

“There’s a real problem with this Internet thing and everyone thinking they have a voice,” he said. “This is where freedom can get out of hand. Everybody should not have a voice is what we’ve just proven by the Internet. Because I’m convinced that Jesus Christ could come back onto this earth and forgive everybody’s sins, and it’d be the greatest day in mankind ever. Somebody would take a picture of him. They’d put him on a Web site like TMZ, and the first comment would be ‘Jesus is a douche bag.’ You know what I’m sayin’?

“This is what the Internet and bloggers are all about. They’re all little haters. It’s like, ‘Welcome to Haterville. Population: You!’”

He heh…You funny Kid Rock! All little haters, heh heh.., Welcome to Haterville, heh heh…You go man! Those bloggers deserve every bit of it. Dumbass bloggers.

Wait a minute, is he talking about me? I’m a blogger! Does he think I’m a hater?

I took a quick look through the archives and I could only find one post in which I mentioned Kid Rock, “Steal This Blog”. A take on the title of Abbie Hoffman’s book, “Steal This Book”, the post is mainly about a fake PSA video jokingly advocating that little shavers go out and steal stuff that Kid released earlier this year.

Here’s a bit of what I said about Mr. Rock.

Hey Kid, are you on fucking crack?

Kid Rock says go steal a Toyota. Nice.

What is Kid Rock trying to do here? I don’t think he’s trying to “overthrow the government” like Abbie Hoffman. And, aside from the fact that he lacks (Gene) Simmons’ eloquence, he isn’t directing his wrath at anybody in the industry like, Gene was.

I think Kid Rock is attempting a little satirical wit in an effort to scold consumers. There is irony only in that, the people that Kid Rock is upset with, are a manifestation of the “counter culture” aesthetic that Abbie Hoffman was promoting back in the early ’70s.

Am I a hater?

Is this Haterville?

Isn’t that where they filmed Green Acres?

    Hey !! I resemble that remark !!

gaggle ruled: Results 1 - 10 of about 11,300,000 for kid rock. (0.17 seconds)

[I lov'd that one: "steal this blog" btw, JackieRaySephus...]

Backed by his eight-piece Twisted Brown Trucker Band, as well as two female backing singers, Rock (given name, Bob Ritchie) worked through his recent forays into gospel with the triumphant “Amen” as well as such earlier hits as “American Bad Ass” with a seasoned stage experience. He also welcomed a slew of influential guests.
“For Kid Rock, American Rock is where it’s at” By Tom Kielty Monday, August 25, 2008

The first were Lynyrd Skynyrd survivors Billy Powell and Gary Rossington, who contributed keyboards and guitar to “All Summer Long,” Rock’s latest hit single that samples that band’s classic, “Sweet Home Alabama,” as well as Warren Zevon’s “Werewolves of London.”

It looks to me like Kid Pock has more “anchors” than Mike Phelps !! or should we say survivors? Poor mistreated Kid… jilted bastard. When will he be loved?

The fact is, Jack, that the man may have a point there. People tend to be offensive and aggressive when hiding in the shadow of the internet. However I don’t agree with the fact that necessarily “bloggers” are how they say, but people on the internet, in general are. And let me tell you why I say this.

I do spend a lot of time on the internet, I work on the internet, I read newspapers there, I pay my bills there, I am pretty much a citizen of the web so I like to think I have a pretty good idea about how things are going. It is very interesting if you look at people commenting on various things on the internet. It is so easy to jump to conclusions and to judge people and most of all to judge them in a wrong way that everybody does it. Look at comments on forums, there are trolls everywhere. Look at people on Digg, they have a very fast “negative reaction”, people commenting on newspaper posts, etc. On blogs also but not that many, I think, not on mine, for sure, because on a blog only people who gets a connection with the author comments(usually)

Regarding the voice of bloggers, well, this is the real value of the internet, people interacting with each other. Usually a blogger gets a voice because he/she has something worthy to say and people stop by and pay attention to that particular opinion. Usually you get an audience especially for having a voice. If you think about it, bloggers are internet journalists and I don’t think an journalist ever made it big by not having a loud voice.

What did I put in my coffee this morning? I guess the milk is guilty for this…damn!

I think we should all get together and give him a group e-hug.

    Ah, f**k him.

Blogging to one side, he’s probably right on some level about the internet. When news sites, film reviewers etc got lazy and asked the punters for their (uninformed) opinion so that they could add content for free, all the whack-jobs got a voice and their voice was heard the loudest.

-Damn straight, KR! And the Internet just makes quality harder to find; –too many rating systems laced with ad-based payola! Take that, GERD! It would take a 30ft Zeppelin to catch the public’s attention, and if there’s not quality attached to the message, then it’s still a waste of time.

Is it just me or do you all apologists start sounding way to nice !!!

Let me try to reiterate a blogger pledge: “I want to do something useful: …Publish!”

See Dr J latest “Come Hell or High Water” will work and then Publish.

NOW, as for any superego socio-path, Kid Rock type’s… “I want to do anything… as long as it is Kid Rock!”

Most of us don’t wake in the morning and type in our own name into the gaggle search box… do we? Okay, so once in a while I do, but hey not every morning, noon and night. You see KR — you can expunge your record from the internet and free publicity I’m giving you right now… no? Yes, you could Kid Dick. well then what’s this all about?

A Korean television crew reportedly gained access to Beijing’s National Stadium and taped Monday’s rehearsal of the opening ceremonies for the Olympic Games.

The leaked footage infuriated Olympic organizers, who have worked diligently to keep details of the highly anticipated gala a secret. And it further strained the tense relationship between the organizers and members of the international media irked by restrictions on internet access.

Kid Rock gets 11,300,000 hits with no correlations. Mike Phelps gets only a paltry 4,790,000 just now!

Until Mike Phelps marries and divorces Pamela Analson I will conclude that Kid Rock and Mike Phelps are not playing on the same ego field… all right! [Digg - Pamela Anderson Mouth To Mouth With Michael Phelps
File this under lil' bit creepy mmkay? Pamela Anderson apparently has the hots for Olympic gold medalist, Michael Phelps . Nevermind that she's 41] aside …that’s the ho Tommy Lee and Kid Rock shared… right?

Hey Pianist Envy — what are you some kind of dweeb on caffeine?

An exception to the warrant rule was established when exigent circumstances required officials to act immediately. That’s what Warren Richey once said, “Of merchant ships and crack-sellers’ cars”, (Christian Science Monitor, May 20, 1999)

I don’t think we’ll be serving any warrants today… to the short-bus crowd in your discussion, that is. They’re not distributing anything other than fertilizer. Why not just sit back and soak up the ambiance of rattling brains.

After all the purpose of the blog is “to confirm the poet [Kid Rock in this case] in a lonely and exigent task, which is all the more necessary in these times”. (Patsy McGarry, Dec 2001)

I think we did our job all right.

Thanks for listening KR and trog’s, you too Envy: Now back to our regularly scheduled programming — “Hillary Clinton, speaking at the Democratic National Convention….”

Apparently the KR hasn’t figured out how to make posts in his own blog yet…

Everyone should have a voice — especially in context of Jeremiah Wright, yes… I think Kid needs going to church time at Rev Wright’s before I can listen to Kid’s BS ever again. His diatribe is so weak that he’s dweeb incarnate.

I think I am going to rename KR to “Dry Bean” for personal reasons.
