Well music 2.0 didn’t work out the way they said it would. The problem a lot of people have when making predictions is they tend to focus on a particular thing. What’s going to happen with the music business, or advertising, or newspapers? You can’t predict how a sector is going to evolve without looking at how the whole enchilada is changing rapidly. A true cultural shift is worldwide and diversified.
I’ve talked about Gerd Leonhard, who bills himself as a media futurist, before. Gerd seems to have more peripheral vision than most who are daily filling up my Google Reader.
I saw this presentation once before and I think that it’s a succinct overview. Here’s Gerd with “What happens when we are all connected?”.
As always…..hit pause on the music player before watching the YouTube.

I always get a lump in my throat when I hear Gerd speak about how we soon won’t need people to tell us what to think, read or listen to; we’ll just log in and the truth will set us free!
BTW, GERD = GastroEsophageal Reflux Disease and I think the powers that be are working on a cure for it…
