I don’t know that there is a more thankless job in the music biz than that of the lowly song plugger.
From Topix.
Pop star turned country singer Jessica Simpson told a crowd during her Grand Ole Opry debut that she burst into tears the first times she heard the song “Remember That” and knew God wanted her to sing it.
Good to see the The Almighty has thrown his hat in to the ring.

So how does one get Him to plug their songs? Inquiring minds want to know…
(or is the question really how do we get Jessica back on her meds?)
I would suspect J, that the best way to get this done would to to arrange a face to face. Which, might go something like this…
Plug is a God Songer
You are so right, Jack.
Now a Presbyterian might argue that God had already decided long ago not to accept any calls from a Jack Pribek precisely because of the impending outcome of the above illustration.
That’s why I’m no longer a Presbyterian.
;-)
Did not know that J. Maybe that’s why the Presbyterians didn’t have a team in the Church basketball league when I was a kid; they already knew the Catholics were going to mop everybody up.
That’s a good question: Where have all the Presbyterians Gone?
I grew up in the Presbyterian Church of De-Nile too. Now I have no church to go to. I moved too many times. I was about eighteen when someone told me about pre-destination, and all the stuff I missed from going to church the 936 Sundays of my first years of life.
In her own simpleton way, Daisy Duke clad Miss Simpson is trying to say that she has a Church Jones of latter Day Pants. She acts kind of like a Methodist; and Methodists are my favorites.
Pluggin’? Well, I did go to a Presbyterian Service when I was in Osaka. It was entirely in Japanese, so I fell asleep during the service as usual. After that I googled American Churches only to find the Southern Baptist church has had the market growth of WalMart over the last thirty years. All other denominations have nothing comparable. May as well turn over all their faux basilicas to the Disco crowd.
In Chicago, the largest structures were about Catholic complexes — scools attached. In Houston the Baptist Church is the largest structure and compounds on earth — colleges attached on prime real estate sites.
Is there a Point? No and yes; Pluggin’ seems part of the experience. Presbyterian is a go between of Southern Baptist, and Episcopal Protestant churches, and a lot more edgy [as in stodgy] than Methodist. But, in all churches is one factor that remains similar, even for Jewish Temple, Music is the common language. And that part of church I really dig.
But, gosh, you all already knew that.
