The YouTube routine is always the same, I’m looking for one thing and find something totally different but, then I’m satisfied with the unrelated tangent that I find in the related videos. This time I found Leon Russel doing “Roll Over Beethoven”; a 1964! version.

Don’t know what show it’s from or anything but, you got to take a look.

As always, cock your head to one side a flip back your hair then press pause on the music player located in the side bar before looking at the YouTube.

My head is always cocked, thank you, not by choice… an old football injury. And what little hair is left, well I am afraid if I flip too hard it will go flying off, thank you very much.

Leon was so ahead of his time, with all that wireless technology… what a show! (cue: screams)

When I saw this on TV back when, don’t remember, maybe the Andy Williams Show? … I thought it was Jerry Lee Lewis.. Wow am I getting a second chance to straighten out all my musical confusion or what?

In my mind I pair up Leon Russell with Madge, like two peas from the same husk. I half expected to see M jump from the back stage and slink on down to the white piano and undulate in front… but undulating was not the fashion in 1969.
