My sister and venerated web chick, Jayne, lives in Spokane, Washington where they have been getting record snowfall. Enough bad weather that they are getting national coverage. From MyWay.
More than 6 feet of snow in the past three weeks has left Spokane residents frustrated.
That’s enough to chap your badonkadonk right there.
“This is the most snow I’ve ever seen,” Tennessee women’s basketball coach Pat Summitt said when her team played at Gonzaga University on Dec. 30. “It’s beautiful.”
Pat, Pat, Pat, your are a great coach, fantastic coach, hall of fame coach but, right there you sound like a tourist. You sound like someone who is getting out of town. That’s not helpful Pat. That kind of stuff only makes the yokels feel more frustration.
One man was arrested by Spokane police after gunshots were fired Monday morning at a private snow plow operator who was clearing a parking lot. Police said the motorist apparently got upset when the plow operator honked his horn.
“It’s safe to say that fuses are short, people are frustrated and we are having an increase in neighborhood disputes regarding snow-related issues,” said Jennifer DeRuwe, a police spokeswoman.
Man, I just hope Jayne doesn’t even own a gun. It seems out of character but, I’ve never asked. Let me try to put this nicely; Sis isn’t known for having an excessively long fuse. If you know what I mean and having some throw down heat around the shack would be a bad idea.
Listen Jayneioto, you need to just relax. Take a few deep breaths, get one with the snow. You know what helps me when I’m feeling frustrated, torqued, bent and eat up with cabin fever? Listen to a little Lowell George. Old Lowell had one for just about every occasion but, this one’s obvious.
As always, shovel the walk then click pause on the music player located in the side bar before playing the YouTube.

Not known for a long fuse, huh? Just cuz I threw a pair of mom’s sewing shears at one of your friends once, I’m marked for life. Sheesh!
Actually, brother mine, as much as the snow frustrates everyone around here, I love winter and the snow. It makes me happy. Of course, I really can’t go to the movies or out to dinner, but I’m content reading my books, taking care of the dogs and the cat, and keeping cosy. I do feel terrible for my poor husband who has to go out into the snow nightly, but he has a much longer fuse than I do, and a more even humour.
We’re good, and the big melt has arrived, and it all looks messy now. Hopefully no one will shoot anymore plow drivers for we’ve had city workers and volunteers working round the clock to keep folks from being snowed in.
Thanks for the ol’ L. George. I still love Little Feat.
Woah! You really did that!!!
not really helping your case, fessin’ up to that one
I have no case.
I always advise people to get a case, at least a gig bag
Small world– I was in that area during the holidays! One night driving in white-out conditions I starting singing this very song!!!
