Do Trekkies and Star Trek conventions kind of creep you out?

How about a Weird Al convention?

AL FEST is an all day event at the Holiday Inn in Costa Mesa, CA, on Saturday, August 1, 2009. Special events include a presentation by Jon “Bermuda” Schwartz, Al’s drummer since 1981, a slack-key guitar performance by Jim “Kimo” West, Al’s guitar player since 1982, and a “UHF” 20th anniversary celebrity panel!

Here’s the thing; Al isn’t going to be there! It’s a celebration of Weird Al. A loving tribute to Weird Al…

One Response to “If Star Trek “enthusiasts” are called “Trekkies”…what would you call folks who would go to Al Fest?”

  1. I’m a Doctor Who fan; at one point I actually thought I was Doctor Who. But then also I thought Paul was dead.

I think things they do in California are mostly stupid. Are you sure that’s not just another pawnbroker convention?
