KISS Takes The Wal Mart Deal
Rock is dead they say…
“Sonic Boom” is due to be released only at Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club on Oct. 6. It will include a CD of the band’s first new music in 11 years, re-recorded versions of famous KISS hits and a live DVD.
Other classic acts that have chosen to release albums through Wal-Mart include the Eagles, AC/DC and Foreigner.
Yeah, I know that it hasn’t been about rebellion/counter culture/not selling out to the mainstream corporo/military/industrial/consumerism complex since Sam Phillips pedaled the KING for 30K. And, even though Wal Mart is phasing out music, they are the only rat left on the bow of the sinking dinghy but…Wal Mart is where I buy Velveeta and underwear for Christ’s sake! Just once I’d like to see a “classic act” say; “We think Wal Mart sucks so, we will not allow them to distribute our new record or re-recorded versions our famous hits and a live DVD. But, we may stop by for a garden hose.”
I guess it’s a long way from the glory days, eh?

But, old wrinkle rockers never die, they only try to keep gasping and grasping for the past…

“A clown can get away with murder;” John Wayne Gacy once said — and, “When I was Pogo, I was in another world.”
And Bozo once uttered: “Are you one hundred, or FORTY FIVE!!???
Are you an athlete or just have athlete’s feet?
Were you born in Septober or Octember?
Rooty Kazooty, Wowee Kazow, Ole’ Bozo is my best Pal!
And my favorite, “Do you walk to school or carry your lunch?”
Seems he liked to ask what your teacher’s name was and when you’d tell him, he’d say “Well look into the camera there and say “HI MISS SMITHWICK!!”"
Then, of course, ICP Violent J once said: “Being poor would probably make you kill yourself cause you wouldn’t know how to handle it! Being born poor is way better. It’s way more fun to dream about getting paid and then actually doing it one day. The reward is way, way bigger to you if you make it! Also if you lose it all.. what’s the worst that could happen? You would be poor again, and that ain’t nothing new. ” [ICP have been voted the worst band of any genre of music in various magazine polls including Spin and Rolling Stone. This has not discouraged the group, and they repeatedly state they do not care what music critics think of their work. Nevertheless, Spin, Rolling Stone, and Vibe have been singled out for mockery in several ICP raps.]
Could Insane Clown Posse be next? *[Happy Face, Juggaloes ~Heart~ Walmart.... ICP unclipped.]*
So why not? Other classic [gold star] acts that have chosen to release albums through Wal-Mart include the Eagles, AC/DC and Foreigner.
