Only Cracker Barrel still exists in my town. But I only go there when my parents are visiting. I used to willingly go to Ruby Tuesdays.

    I may be old …
    … but not that old.
    I may be young …
    … but not that young.
I would think twice … if I ate HERE

    And since I’m a Cracker hue …
seems nat’ral that I’d eat HERE
Where I have read this review:

“I’m a vegetarian that does not eat bread or dairy but I do eat fish. The menu here is wonderful ..I was spoilt for choice. Fish dishes, salads, vegetables, everything cooked to perfection and Blueberry pancakes yum! yum ! Serving staff helpful and cheerful. The decor is of a bygone age that gives a warm comfortable feeling. The shop has so many interesting things to buy.
I bought friends organic lavender sleep balm in pretty small round tins.
… Easy little presents when considering baggage allowances. I love visiting the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store. Take your time to enjoy the experience…”

    … Sleep balm sounds nice
and I might go back twice …
But I have trouble with …
    fish, like perch, and bones

    So in a jam
    with a half a crown
I’d probably roll with the Stones.

Here’s the deal with Cracker Barrel…I’m thinking I’ll get a Chicken Fried Steak with gravy (of course), and for my 3 sides I’ll have Onion Rings, Fried Okra and the famous Hash Brown Casserole plus an extra bowl of gravy for the pile of biscuits they throw down. Live large, break all the rules and walk away with a sense of satisfaction.

But, then…as we look over the menu, somebody at the table says; “Oooh, the baked tilapia! That sounds nice, I think I’ll get that!” And, I’m thinking OK, we’re playing it that way. And so, I decide not to put on a display of revolting gluttony so as not to offend the other diners in the party. I opt for the grilled, skinless chicken breast with green beans, a salad and baby carrots.

Then…Tilapia places their order but with, Onion Rings, Fried Okra and the famous Hash Brown Casserole plus an extra bowl of gravy and a Diet Coke!!!

And then there’s that damn “country store”. BTW, I’ve never seen one person ever buying one of those rocking chairs and prying it in to the trunk…never once. But, they always got 50 of ‘em out there, brand spanking new.

Ruby Tuesday’s seems to always have a decent salad bar.

    What is sleep balm?
