  2. Frank L Wright is quizing LeCorbusier [ Swiss Architect and city planner, whose designs combine the functionalism of the modern movement with a bold, sculptural expressionism. 1887-1965 ] and Frank says: “I’ve seen better windows in Tiquicheo being loaded on a burro bound for a hillside shanty in Jungapeo, Michoacan, … there, le Corbusier ….”

… to which Le Corbusier replies: “I prefer drawing to talking. Drawing is faster, and leaves less room for lies.” And then summons his chus’pa and replies: “A hundred times have I thought New York is a catastrophe and 50 times: It is a beautiful catastrophe.”

Then Le turned to his long time friend painter Amédée Ozenfant (1886 – 1966) and together without Frank’s input, formulated the ideas of Purism, and touted it as an aesthetic based on the pure, simple geometric forms of everyday objects.

Thank God and all the Patron Saints for that!!!!
