I wish at this time to take a moment to swat a few flies.

It’s so hot down here the mosquitoes are only drinking water. Now if you pardon me a brief “apology for wonderment” I shall proceed:

Like who gives a hoot, eh? I have thought vividly, conscious or otherwise, on the breathtaking chances I have had to comment over here at Pribek dot net. Wholly gratified in my pleasure to bounteous wordage about my beloved nation — Texas.

And, you, my patient and long-suffering friends on bard-i-age filled pages of this book, have witnessed my best and my worst. But my worst days are glorious as I have you all to fall back on.

As of late, it came to mind that I might have “over did” things a might strongly along the lines of braggin’ about Houston, or the harrumpph of Texans on certain subjects. Truth is — Texas is wasted on Texans. To you friends, and to Texans also, I wish it were not true.

Here in Bryan TX I am an exiled artist by day and a body guard by night. Most everyone I know would like for me to make up my mind. And, tonight, I come to you friends of this meeting place with a proposition.

Yes, I ask you to put on your thinking caps. You can dawdle, and you can side step this one …. but I know you will all one day come to this cross roads.

Is Jack Pribek ever going to eat his cat?
