I’m Still The Anti-Demographic

December 1, 2011 · Posted in The Anti-Demographic

Took a trip to Wal-Mart today and, I must say, it’s a bit surreal to me.

Most shoppers look either angry or confused or some combination of both. Maybe, they are uneasy about spending hard earned dollars. I guess I expected a little more excitement, possibly a carry-over from the huge, spectacular, blockbuster bonanza Black Friday frenzy.

Speaking of that, I saw a list; “The Bestselling Black Friday Products of 2011″ at Black-Friday.net. And in short order, I realized I neither need or want any of them.

Here goes…

The Bestselling Black Friday Products of 2011

1: Apple iPad-I’m probably prejudiced against Apple because it remains so damn trendy. Also, the old laptop does everything I require and a bunch of stuff I have no clue about.

2: Amazon Kindle-Sister Jayne hipped me to Kindle for PC, which is free (again, the laptop) and I use it a whole bunch and…I scarf up on the free books.

3: Apple iPhone 4-I should probably get a phone so people can get a hold of me but, I’m in to dumb phones.

4: iPods and iPod accessories-see above

5: Game station consoles-If I want to spend a couple of hours glassy-eyed and inattentive of others, I’ll just pick up the old Telecaster.

6: Flatscreen televisions-I’ve lived without T.V. for so long that if I did somehow attain a flat screen I would resemble one of those guys dying on the pipe in an opium den.

8: Bargain-priced appliances-They probably aren’t talking about one of those $12.00 barbecue grills you see at the Dollar store.

9: Digital cameras-I have a digital camera (once again thanks to Sis who sent me hers when she got a new one) and it’s great for what I do.

10: Blip Toys Squinkies Bubble Pack-I didn’t know what this was so, I looked it up…

…it looks like some marketing whiz figured out how to sell bulk packages of those things you used to get out of the little vending machine by the gumball machine at the grocery store.

And, there you have it…I am still the anti-demographic. Are you?

First, “If I want to spend a couple of hours glassy-eyed and inattentive of others” < lol

Second, I'm so "in" right now…and yet am still tragically awkward and uncool. I have been lied to and demand a refund.

Everything is getting more and more fuzzy. Sort of like a big honker of a nasty Bernaysian sneeze smeared all over a ‘kerchief… much like the Boy Scouts who lose because they won’t budge on modern issues… we are the ANTI-DEMOGRAPHIC and we occupy nothing!
