The Friday Night Et cetera… Episode #2 (The Road…)

A little traveling music?
So, last night, getting ready to take this little trip over to Music City, I had kind of a little, fun, new-for-me experience; putting together a streaming playlist for a mobile device. You know…music to listen to on the road.
I found that while attempting to pre-program the listening fare, I had different protocol for traveling music than my normal audio routine.
How about you?

Phoooooeeeeee!!! I’m boycotting Friday Night Cage Match/Fondue Party/Evolving Conversation/Dancing About Architecture … since you shortened the name to appease yellow tail Liberal conservatives and their nomenclature challenged lives…!!!!!
Boycott?…yeah well whatever Chooch. Seems like everyone else is following your lead.
so…anyway…I put together this eclectic playlist for the jaunt. Had some Hendrix, Velvet Underground, Toots and the Maytalls, ‘Trane, etc…and Beka well, she was being polite and I even caught her bopping her head a little a couple of times.
anyway, I decided to put “Mountain Jam” on there because I hadn’t heard it in years because it takes a substantial time investment ya’ dig? I was thinking that a drive through the TN hills might provide a nice opportunity to revisit the genesis of all that is jam band.
So, about halfway through Dicky’s first solo, Beka sez…”Wow, is that still the same song?”
And then, during the drum solo she sez…”How long is this song?” as she picked up the i-Phone to check just how long it is and then sez…”Wow, 19 minutes long!!??” and I said…”uh…no, 19 minutes left”.
I think there might be a typo… or were you really going to wait until the ABB had finished before commencing intimate relations whilst driving???
Back when I had a slow car, I used to make mixes from the longest songs available (often ABB!!!!) so that the miles went quicker.
Then I got a Corvette Z06 and couldn’t take my hands off the wheel long enough to reach the stereo.
Now I ride a Vespa. Barely functioning clock, let alone stereo.
The one time I nearly fell asleep at the wheel was when the Ozark Mountain Daredevils’ “Giving It All to the Wind” came on. Lovely song but stronger than Tylenol PM!
uhhh…..typo-Freudian slip no doubt
