A Few Quick Things To Consider And Discuss On This Independence Day

July 4, 2012 · Posted in Discussion

First off; why do we seem insistent on calling it “the 4th of July”? Is this another PR campaign that has been going on so long and has been so effective that we disregard the notions that our founders were so angry and dissatisfied with things that they declared independence?

It’s generic. It’s anything but independent. Just a date…doesn’t encourage anyone to be independent.

The Declaration of Independence seems to get lost in the shuffle these days. The Constitution is getting all the press.

The Declaration was the action, the Constitution is the administrating.

Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

See, that’s the real red meat. That’s what we are here for. There’s a lot of interpretation going on with the administrative stuff. Always will be, I suppose. The Supreme Court is akin to the Council of Rabbis. Forever interpreting the word for the benefit of the masses. But, the core premise is constant…Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

How is it working out for you? Those are YOUR inalienable rights being as how we were all created equal.

Do you feel your right to live your life is in good shape?

Do you feel that you have sufficient liberty?

Do you feel like you are able to freely pursue being happy?

It looks like jimson weed nestled in a bed of poison oak…what a combo for Non-Independence Day from scratching and Liberty to throw-up. Not to mention, a display of rockets-red-glare in my head.
