Friday Night Cage Match/Fondue Party/Evolving Conversation/Dancing About Architecture Vol. 149

OK, this is going to be more of an informal survey because, I would genuinely like to get a little input on the subject of live music.

1. What is the last live music event you attended?

2. Do you currently have plans to see any shows?

And of course, any thoughts or stories you have on why you or do not go to any concerts, clubs, guitar pulls, jam sessions, etc. etc. would be of interest.

Mountain Music Festival at the Holly theater in Dahlonega GA…before that, Tab Benoit @ The Melting Point in Athens GA…I prefer small clubs cause it’s more intimate…the big name acts seem to be so over priced that I cannot and will not pay that kinda money to see them….

ahh very good Chris, I like Tab’s stuff. I like what you said because, when you get past the acts that are selling the big spectacle, there is a lot of worthwhile stuff to see. I sometimes feel that really experiencing music is slipping away from our culture.

Gee whilikers, Stanley, I don’t get out much. One might call me a ‘shut in’… not even sure the last time I was party to ‘live’ music.

I just know that most ‘live’ stuff today involves raising your arms and showing your arm pits, or repeating ‘Heigh Ho’after the guy with the mic.

I am disillusioned, and too old to join your survey. Sorry. I do listen to Gary Grainger’s LIVE Blues Show on Sundays 6 to 8 PM on Sundays…

He sometimes has live guests and that is usually a hoot.

Other wise the last live music I remember is probably from New Haven, MO, and involved some terrible flute playing.

Last live music I saw was the Lee Roy Parnell but at Gearfest, where he showed off his new signature Les Paul. Before that? Beyond musical events at my church? I don’t even remember.

Buddy Guy is coming to town next fall. I want to get tix for that. But I don’t go out much anymore.

I was thinking about Lee Roy Parnell the other day, wondering what he’s up to.

Pat…take that Italian chick out dancing.
