Lord of the Slugs

It’s been raining off and on all morning. I just stepped outside and spotted the Lord of Slugs stationed right next to the back door.

To give you an idea of the enormity of this particular gastropod mollusc, here’s one next to our Weber Smokey Joe…

    Leopard larva? I always thought they were mammals.

    This species has a very unusual and distinctive mating method, where the pair of slugs use a thick thread of mucus to hang suspended in the air from a tree branch or other structure.

    Ah yeah…survival of the slimiest. I knew politics couldn’t be far away.
    We’re glad you “Louie’s” are getting some rain. Now it’s bone dry in Texas again.
