The nude Madonna and Guy Ritchie painting by Peter Howson ended up selling this week. It failed to sell at a recent contemporary Scottish art auction by McTear’s Auctioneers in Glasgow but has since been sold for more than the £15,000 reserve price.
Woah!
That’s a handsome woman there.
Personally, I think Mr. Howson could have doubled that £15,000 reserve merely by adding a leering A-Rod, dangling a jug of HGH, peeping through the window. But, what do I know about art?
I have been surrounded by creative people my entire life. At the top of the list, I would have to say my main creative influence is my Mother, painter/sculptor/potter/art machine, Shirley Pribek.
Last night, I did a Google search on my Mom and, lo and behold, there is a YouTube of a TV thing she did a few years back. It’s a demonstration of some watercolor techniques.
