SECOND-HAND bagpipes are proving elusive in Horsham’s namesake in Australia.
News from ‘down under’ is that Horsham City Pipe Band has plenty of willing learner pipers, but the instruments are proving elusive…
…However, there used to be far more pipe bands in the area in the past, so hopes are that people have them packed away ready to be brought out and used once more.
It’s a shame that there are aspiring pipers that can’t get their hands on quality instruments and, a double shame that this has lead to a decrease in the number of pipe bands.
Here is the official Horsham site, you could maybe contact someone there if you have an old set of pipes gathering dust in the attic that could use a good home.
