Yeah, I know it’s early but, it’s not too early to say; The Best Record In Baseball.

Cards beat the Brewers tonight 5-4. This actually puts them in a tie with Arizona for the best record in baseball at 11 and 4.

Cardinal Nation is starting to come out of hibernation.

Meanwhile, and still baseball oriented, I came across Joe Posnanski’s blog a while back. Joe writes for the Kansas City Star and therefore, covers the other team. He also wrote, “The Soul of Baseball: A Road Trip Through Buck O’Neil’s America”, which I have read excerpts from and plan to read in full. It looks real good and I’m a big fan of Buck O’Neil. Everybody should be a big fan of Buck O’neil.

Anyway, Posnanski had a very nice piece today called “Why Duane Kuiper Is My Hero”. I know that all of you unwashed but well read types are going to dig Joe’s writing.

3:15 p.m.: First pitch by Cardinals starting pitcher Adam Wainwright

It’s opening day, Cardinal Nation.

Ahh…but if our hearts and minds could only permanently reside at the Elysian Fields on opening day, for on opening day, everyone is in a pennant race.
