I love cashews. I don’t get them very often. For me, a luxury but, I love them.
Check this out from the Daily Telegraph.
POLICE are appealing for help today after cashew nuts worth an estimated $100,000 were stolen from a business in Sydney’s west.
Police were alerted to the theft of nuts from a business on Forge Street in Blacktown by an alarm activation about 5.30am (AEDT) on Sunday.
Woah! That’s a big nut heist. There must be a black market for cashews. Who knew?
I felt compelled to put it in perspective that I could understand. Walgreen’s has Planters Whole Cashews, Lightly Salted (I don’t think any self-respecting, cashew cat burglar would waste time on halves and pieces)…

…in the 9.75 oz. can for $6.99. Now, we got to assume that anybody that had $100,000 worth of cashews on hand was a wholesaler so, we’ll use half price ($3.495 per can) as our working figure.
That comes out to roughly 28,612 cans.
