Bill Dees and I wrote a trucker song called “Rolling Down That Open Road Again” that is on his new album that will be released…I don’t know when but, sometime in the near future.
Anyway, people hear the song and often comment that they are surprised that I had a hand in writing a truck driving song. Actually though, one of the first paying gigs I had was with a guy that knew all of those Red Sovine, Jack Greene, Willis Brothers, George Morgan, Dave Dudley tunes; all that stuff. I always enjoy playing those things when I get a chance.
