People come up with some funny ideas when they are liquored up. And, I appreciate the madness quotient required for somebody to really think outside the box of typical drunken stunts. Take for instance, the guy involved in this Iowa incident from Breitbart/AP.

A Minnesota man is under arrest after allegedly stealing a combine and taking it for drunken ride through several yards and crashing into a garage. The man was charged with first offense operating while intoxicated, third-degree burglary, third-degree theft and criminal mischief as a Class C felony.

According to the Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to a residence south of McIntire around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday after receiving a complaint that a combine had driven through several yards, striking numerous vehicles and a garage.

Deputies said they found the combine down the road and identified the man as the driver.

Authorities said the combine did significant damage to three residences as well as several street signs and a bridge. The man was being held in Mitchell County Jail on a $26,000 bond.

I’ll tell you what; I’ve been involved in a fair amount of drunken joyrides and in a few different types of vehicles. And, I heard the story about George Jones and the riding lawnmower. I’ve seen old dudes down in Panama City, being poured on to their little “mobility scooters” and cruising off down the sidewalk in to the sunset.

But, never once has it ever crossed my mind, nor anybody’s that I know, to get lips up and take one of these babies for a spin….

Nice work Minnesota Man…in Iowa.

Yeah, that’s what what it says here.

A drunken 78-year-old Swede stole a dinghy after a night out in the Danish town of Helsingor and tried to row back to Sweden, but fell asleep halfway, Danish police said on Monday.

Poor guy didn’t have the money to take the ferry from Helsingor to Helsingborg, across the strait of Oresund so, he did what anybody would do; stole and dinghy and started to row the three miles.

He quickly grew tired and, trusting fortune and the currents to see him safely home, took a snooze at the bottom of the boat, where Danish police later found him out at sea, still asleep.
The strait is one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world. Police said the owner of the dinghy had decided not to press charges

Sometimes you get a little tuckered out. When that happens, best to just have a little nap time and trust fate.
