To my knowledge, twang has not been a big player in the video game landscape. But now, it appears that Rock Band 2 is goin’ country. From worthplaying.com…
The Going Country 5-pack lineup of renowned country artists includes Grammy Award winner Brad Paisley with “Mud on the Tires”, the honky- tonk country classic duo Brooks & Dunn with “Hillbilly Deluxe”, and all-American trio Dixie Chicks with “Sin Wagon”.
Rock Band country lovers can also look forward to Dierks Bentley’s #1 single “Free & Easy (Down the Road I Go)” and Miranda Lambert’s standout single “Gunpowder & Lead”.
And, check this out; the Mad Catz Telecaster controller! from rockbandmods.net…
If you’re looking for a unique guitar controller to add to your collection, then the Mad Catz Rock Band Telecaster Wired Guitar might be just what your are looking for. Officially licensed by Fender, the Telecaster controller will feature the following:
* Licensed Fender Telecaster styling
* Perfectly scaled with high detail
* Built for speed – new, improved strum bar and quick response fret buttons
* Programmable strum
* Telecaster Bridge Plate used for Whammy
* Smooth Hot-Rod Red finish
OK, things run in cycles. I know that. Now, I’ve been playing the noble Telecaster for a good long while now. In the time that has passed since I first picked up Leo Fender’s pride and joy electric toy, the Telecaster has gone from being the anti-cool to, symbol of pseudo-blue collar street cred, to trendy slick cowboy prop and even shredders and industrial metal guys are being spotted with them the these days. Each step of the way, I think; “Well good, this has finally gone far enough now. The mainstream will surely view this symbolism and overexposure with contempt and only those that are truly committed will remain as the fashion falls out of favor”.
But, it hasn’t happened yet.
Maybe, just maybe, there’s a way out of this.
Just a thought; perhaps we can start some kind of grass roots movement to encourage the Fender Custom Shop to sign up this guy…
…to design his own signature model.
